Charley’s chocolate tour is Australia’s only cocoa tree to chocolate bar experience and one of only a few places in the world where you can experience the whole tree to bar journey. If you love chocolate this is a ‘must do’. Tours run every Thursday and Sunday at 10.30am. Bookings are essential.

Charley’s is authentic and all about how one of our favourite foods comes into being. It’s deliberately NOT a theme park. We’re passionate about what we do and want you to share the fascinating chocolate story. The tour’s fun, very much hands on and hugely informative.

Explore at cocoa’s fascinating 3,800 year history.
Visit Charley’s tree nursery and mature cocoa tree plantation.
See tiny orchid like flowers and ripe cocoa pods.
Look at age old fermentation and drying techniques.
See a cocoa pod being opened and taste cocoa nibs.
Take part in some of the steps of making chocolate.

The highpoint of the tour is the chocolate tasting! Here we feature our multi award winning Australian grown and made premium single origin chocolate.

Tour days & times

Charley’s chocolate tour operates every Thursday and Sunday. (subject to minimum number of guests). Fridays and special holiday and long weekend tours operate subject to demand (check calendar or call for details).

Please arrive between 10.00 and 10.20am
Tour starts promptly at 10.30am (we’re unable to wait for latecomers)
Lunch finishes at 1.30pm

Our child rate covers children aged 3 to 15 years. Babies and children under 3 are free, but lunch and samples are not provided. Over 15s are at the adult rate.

Aussie farm lunch

This is included in your tour and features local grass-fed beef burgers barbecued to perfection and served with caramelised onion and a choice of condiments. (Vegetarian or gluten-free option is available but MUST be pre-ordered at time of booking). Soft drinks and spring water are available to buy.

What to bring

Sensible shoes and a wide brimmed hat. Sunscreen and insect repellant are sensible. Don’t forget your camera. If rainy, use of an umbrella is provided free.

Shopping at Charley's

Naturally, all our chocolate’s available for you to buy. We accept Cash, EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard. We also feature other selected local products.

Other important stuff

All tours must be pre-booked and paid for prior to arrival at Charley’s. We welcome kids but ask that they be supervised at all times. Smoking’s not permitted.

All walking is on level or very slightly sloping gravel or grass. Minimal fitness is all that’s required. Charley’s is an all-weather tour; at times this may mean slightly muddy conditions underfoot. This also means, though, you can visit Charley’s when other tours mayn’t be available.

We welcome children of all ages on our tours. The content’s designed for adults and older children; therefore, we find some young children under 5 years old occasionally get restless. To assist we provide colouring books and we try to keep them involved. We’re of course very happy to discuss the suitability with you before you book.

Getting to Charley’s is self-drive. There are directional signs on the road and an A board at the entrance. Ample parking is available. We’re Caravan and RV friendly.
